Nornal IPSC 3 gun, means you have some stages that you shoot with a pistol some with the rifle and some with a shotgun you never shot the same stage with more than one gun. Generaly what ever class you pistol is you must use the same class of rifle and shotgun.

IPSC 3 Gun is very different from CAS.  The stages are almost always single weapon, and guns are never staged on the range.

The rifles, to be competitive, are generally high capacity semi auto's, mostly military style semi auto's.   Most of our member are using .223, 33 round mags are the norm.    Some use optics, and some more than one scope at the same time.

The shotguns are generally long tube semi auto gas operated.

The pistols are what ever that person shoots IPCS with, but rifle, pistol and shotgun must be the same "class" ie. if one uses optics all must (limited exception -- some matches allow scoped rifle, iron sights for pistol and shotgun).

Rifle distances out to 300metres, shotgun -- maybe 20 metres, pistol out to 50 metres.

Almost always shot while moving , and remember our score from hitting targets is divided by your time.

Have a look at the photos on the IPSC section of the website, 3Gun subsection.
This IS my warm and sensitive side.

OK
thanks  for that  :)
don't know why just thought it was shot the same as a CAS stage   kinda thought it would have made for a fun day   a few stages  cowboys  shooting there  guns  3 gunners shooting theres
the stages  changed a bit  say   cowboys shoot   5 from one place  ISPC's shoot say 10  from same area  (2nd gun or mag drop  at diffrent area )  say  4 shot gun  to the cowboys  2  and 20 ISPC  rifle  to  the cowboys 10  (cowboys  could use  rifle cal lever  to take them out to  100-150  big plate tho  or  just have 2 sets of plates ) that may level the playing field a bit
and  then  break it down in to the classes  /power factors etc etc  so ya  realy still shooting with in ya class
cowboys  taken  with a CAS RO and ISPC taken by a ISPC RO   for safety resons  etc etc  ..
i'll have a look at the pic's
thanks

If all the other problems could be dealt with a simple time handicap might be doable. We wouldn't want to complicate things too much. It may take some fine tuning but it may be interesting to try something.

Hi ya's
yea  the cal's / speed thing  kinda have a prob under SASS ruleing  that the range here is certed for   also  the steel here  would not handle   getting smacked up  with higher power  ,don't know tho a 45/70 doing 14-1600 FPS  with a 405 or 460Gr pill  has a whack to it  out at 200 + meters  ;D..
just one of those kick around ideas    maybe it's worth  looking in to it a bit  and seeing if there is some common ground   that a day could be  built on ..
just a simple  total time  + X sec per miss   and a P if ya shoot out of order  ..
like i was saying  over all  and then break it down to  ISPC  classes /grades /cat's  and same with CAS   in to there cat's      done right  it maybe intresting  just as a get together   end of the day  we are both shooting action  some of us just got stuck in 1894  HAHAHAHA
catch ya

What CAS shoot is more Multi-Gun than 3-Gun, is it possible for the IPSC people to shoot Multi-Gun?

Matt  looking at it DaveH has a day set up for the 14th  ..
the idea  being talked about here  i think would  be later .
maybe  after the AGM  this idea could  be spoken about to see  what people think  and also if the range  could be used etc etc
what do ya think  El Prez ? Gavin?  what i know about IPSC ya could write  on the back of a stamp with a spraycan    so i don't know if it could get off the ground    i'm guessing  semi rifle or shotgun etc etc   could be staged  on a table  closed empty  with mag in  , just be the pistol  if mag loaded  with say 10 or 15    when shot at one point how ya can re holser  (empty )  or make the stage  (cas pistol /pistol and IPSC  10 round/10 round  ) at the end so  gun can be cleared at the end ....
may just have to be  pistol only stages  rifle only and shotgun only  if multi gun can't be shot

I like the idea of fun competition between sections, maybe we could try some sort of pistol match in town first to see if there is an interest in it?
To rain on everyones parade a little, I see the people interested are the ones who haven't shot 3 Gun yet but are the one's always helping doing the hard work setting things up......Where's the silent majority?

Multi-gun isn't permitted at this point in time.
3 Gun is plenty of fun, try that first and see what you think.
