Presidents Report June 2009
Taggart’s have finally made contact and assure me they will complete the outstanding earthworks, the question is when will be dry enough to do so. We are still withholding payment of their invoice until we’re satisfied the work is complete
Great to see the Block house cleaned out and it was quite surprising what was found in there. Thanks to the usual hard workers for completing that nasty job.
John Harper has resigned as ISSF Section armourer. Many thanks for your years of service.
Ex-CPC member Tsutomu “Tommy” Hayashi has very kindly donated his pistols to the club as he will not be returning to NZ. The IPSC section is running a competition for the most improved new shooter to have the use of one of Tommy’s pistols – a lovely CZ75 IPSC in 40S&W for six months. ISSF section is planning something similar with some of the outstanding ISSF pistols he has donated.
IPSC section May “Mini-Match” was well attended with 4 stages to test everyone’s skills. Junes match will have a shotgun stage as something different.
IPSC sub group is focused on building the competition spirit and get more shooting done – good progress so far. They already have a group of eight heading to the Nationals in November, hosted by the Rotorua Pistol Club. There’s still room for more if you’re keen.
The new Glocks in the IPSC section are in much demand with strong numbers of new members signing up
A gentle reminder to everyone that subs are now overdue and we have to report to PNZ our number of actual paid up members. This in turn is reported to the Police as a requirement of the Arms Act.
The Club internet forum is progressing well and great to see the improved communication in action.
See you all at the AGM 1pm Sunday 28th June.
Sean Gray
President CPC
