ISSF REPORT - AGM - 28 June 2009
This has been a good year for ISSF in Christchurch – we have been able to hold all of our usual competitions throughout the year with the occasional fun one thrown in. Our Christchurch Graded in October – Sth. Islands in November – Mainland Summer in February – Winter Solstice in June.
New members are joining us and filling Range 3 on Sundays and we have a Junior Air Pistol Team from Papanui High doing very well under the coaching of Cheryl – Hugh and Michael – they will compete in the National High School Competition in September and do well I am sure. If you know of any other High Schools in Christchurch that may be interested please get in touch.
A minimum of working bees and more shooting days seems to have been the norm – we have a a working bee a couple of weeks ago in the Blockhouse with amazing results!
Our Club and Postal Competitions continue to be supported with Air – Sport - Centrefire and Standard matches all being held every month with entries from Australia as well as NZ.
December saw the Club's Christmas Shoot and BBQ – lots of fun for all - those who chose not to come missed out on a great day.
Early in May - Greg Yelavich - our High Performance Squad Coach came down to hold a 2 day Training Camp for the Juniors and Club members – this was very well attended and appreciated.
The Winter Solstice Champs were held last weekend where I was lucky enough to take the Abdominal Snowman Trophy for the year.
For the coming year we are already in planning for the Christchurch Graded Champs in October - South Island Champs in November and I guess the Mainland Summer in either January or February 2010.
