September Report
It’s great to see the warmer spring weather and the numbers of shooters that are coming out again. We certainly are heading into the busy season with major events for ISSF, IPSC and CAS all sneaking up in the next few months. If you haven’t started training I’d suggest now is the time to get on the range to practice before it’s too late.
Range Register – This book is very important for all members in recording attendance to prove to the Police you actually attend the club and use your handguns - your genuine need to have a “B” endorsement. Falsifying attendances i.e. Driving in, signing book, then driving out again - casts a shadow over the integrity all members of the Christchurch Pistol Club, and will therefore not be tolerated. The first occurrence will earn a warning letter and a second will result in termination of membership.
The IPSC team have been busy with their monthly Mini-matches. A very big thanks to Aaron, Gavin and their band of helpers.
It is very rewarding to see the strong turn out of shooters. Mixing in a few shotgun stages seems to be achieving a positive response too, so we’ll keep working on those. We should hopefully have the new ranges operational soon so we can cope with even more shooters whilst keeping reasonably sized squads. The next match is Sunday 20th Sept.
It was great to see the Cowboys having a match in August, with a good number of folks having a go. Again there were smiling faces, a BBQ, interesting stages being shot and scored.
A good number travelled over to the coast to Blue Spur to keep the locals honest. Keep up the effort guys – putting the “Action” in CAS.
ISSF section has been nice and busy with plenty of new folks to induct. Michael Keller has bravely taken on the role as Armourer for the section.
The Black Powder Nationals will be held here in conjunction with our South Islands in November. Prepare to inhale some of that lovely Black powder fragrance.
Ahead of this is our Christchurch Graded Competition in October, get out and have a go at some good natured competition, all experience levels will be made welcome.
