December Report

November was the month where it all happened!
ISSF South Islands have been successfully hosted by the hardworking ISSF team, this event included the ever pleasant smelling black powder events – see Hugh’s report for results and great descriptions of each event – “Sparky stone” pistols…..great stuff!
Thanks to everyone for giving the ISSF shooters a clear run on Ranges 1 through 4. Ruth’s report gives a bit of a run down of key and hopefully they didn’t have to use their new trained Judging skills too much.
Continuing the big events in November, the IPSC National Champs were held in Rotorua. A strong contingent from our club headed north and all competed well and a number of trophies were proudly brought home. See Aaron’s IPSC section report for full details of results etc.
The CAS section have been as busy as ever with shoots at Ashburton and Whakamoa. Great to hear the reports of strong competition. Bryan is working on some group shotgun shell purchases, so key an eye on the forum for the offer soon.
3 Gun shooting will start up again in the new year at Motunau range, again see the forum for dates and dust the cobwebs of your toys & come an have a go.
I’d like to thank Bill Hoare who has stepped down from Committee for all his efforts and well reasoned input for many years.
Our annual Christmas shoot is upon us this weekend. This event will give everyone a chance to try shooting all the shooting disciplines we offer and just to add a bit of spice each shooting type will be scored as a couple of bottles of wine are up for grabs. Please don’t plan on rushing away as we’ll have a complimentary BBQ at lunchtime.
   .
