IPSC Section Report for January 2010

Overview

January has been one of the quieter months at the club with a large number of members away enjoying their Christmas vacations. This was evident by the limited amount of attendances on both Wednesday nights and Sunday club days.

IPSC Team & Mini-Match Setup

The IPSC Team continues to meet once a month to discuss and work through what is going to happen within the section for the coming months.

Where are in need of helpers to setup the monthly mini-matches, if you are interested in helping or just would like to see what happens to get a match organised, feel free to pop out after 1pm on the Saturday prior to a mini-match, or talk to me.

January 2010 Mini-Match

On Sunday 24th January the IPSC Section staged another successful mini-match. The match consisted of four challenging pistol stages finishing with a BBQ lunch. The weather forecast for the weekend didn't look promising, but it held out and we made it through without getting wet.

It was great to see such a large number showing up for this mini-match. The final count was 30 competitors split over three grades. There where 6 in Open, 10 in Standard and 14 in Production Grade.

Thanks to the members of the IPSC Team for their tireless work on the setup of the mini-match. Also a special thanks to some of the newer members of the IPSC section who also helped out with this month’s setup.

It is never easy to come up with new ideas for stage designs, but I believe we succeeded. The stages where both challenging and well thought out and there was something in it for everyone.
The introduction of a new moving target was a steep learning curve for some shooters.  :shooting: :reload: :bangbang:

I would especially like to thank Rhonda for her assistance scoring the match.
A big thanks goes to Sean for cooking this months BBQ.  :3cheers:

It was great to see so many competitors and I would like to pass on my congratulations to all who participated in the match.  :bravo:

I would like to encourage all IPSC Section member’s to enter and shoot this match. It is much like our monthly mini-matches but on a bigger scale. There are usually 16-18 stages shot over two days.
