March Report
The recent Mainland Graded ISSF competition was well supported with both ISSF and Black powder events provided. Congratulations to Julian G for shooting the highest score in his grade and was the proud recipient of the “Mr Sunshine” trophy.
The next major ISSF shoot will be the Winter Solstice on 19th – 20th June.
The hard working ISSF Committee members have also arranged a training camp for our High School Junior Air Pistol shooters coached by Greg Yelavich. This will be towards the end of May and hopefully there will be some time for coaching other shooters too. Keep an eye out for a notice closer to May.
The Cowboy section has been working on a Regional Match in conjunction with the Ashburton guys over 19th to 21st March, to be held at Ashburton.
The IPSC section has been very busy as usual with Mini matches and a 2 Gun event run at Motunau.
A number of CPC shooters ventured South to Dunedin for the IPSC South Island Championship. The Otago Pistol Club guys & girls did themselves proud setting up a great event that was very well organised too. A great weekend was had by all who attended. Results are on the Forum.
We will be hosting the South Island 3 Gun Championship in early May. See Aarons report for full details of all IPSC happenings and actual dates.
In general news, the club had an all time record of 15 new member applications this month. Dealing with this many new people is using up a lot of Committee members shooting time, so if one taps you on the shoulder asking for a little help please oblige them. The more people we can get involved in our sport, the stronger and more influential towards Acts of Government we can become.
