I reckon we need a beat up old wreck of a car to sit and in and shoot out of/from behind, seen a few good setups like that on Youtube

We had a car on the range before, but it's not exactly the safest thing to have on a range.
And it would be impossible to insure that we don't get ricochets.
I may be slow, but i'm not very accurate...

Ah yup, makes sense. If it was used right and only in certain situations surely it could be made safe? Or is that the reason its not there anymore?

I wasn't there when they had the car, but to my understanding it was taken away because it was unsafe.

That is correct, the car became to much of a problem, the bullet would usually travel around inside the car and exit taking someone out with a ricochet.

god forgives, I DON'T

How about...
A couple of sliding targets (bit like the one that was on a rope a while ago), that slide into and out of view.  Once chance at it.  Put a no-shoot inbetween.   Shot through a window.

A rabit hutch covered in black, so you can't see the target - have to aim without site picture unless you go prone.  Put a puddle in front of it to stop going prone. Use  mini targets

A speed stage, with say 10 targets set out a bit like a steel match, compulsory mag change. Two if you want. Finish on a long distance popper.
Could vary it by forcing targets to be shot in sequence, on either side of the range - left right left right left...

Mike.

Roger that on the car. I spose if a similar situation was wanted you could just sit on a seat and shoot through an existing window in a wall etc

Id like to see more poppers too personally, they seem fun and I like the idea of one quick shot then on to the next one. Last week I got to the popper and it had fallen over already though (think that happened for a few people?) so I guess they can be a bit finicky?
