How about going to the Motanau range and running the star and two of the valley stages from the 3gun SI champs as a mini match.  Could also do a couple of shotgun stages in the afternoon.  It is a bit of a trek but with enough notice I'm sure people could arrange to make it.

I'd be in for that, but the weather is on its way down and access to the farm is likely to be restricted soon. Still it may be a nice winter.

:badday: How about a scuba course for this weekend.  Maybe set the targets up as fish  :nobite:

Or we could get the inflatables out and pretend we are Navy Seals or Department of Fisheries and go after some paua pochers.    :shooting:

Found this on YouTube.

Check out the swinging/rocking target at the end. This would be cool with a no shoot target on blocking two normal targets.

and people say my ideas are mean!

no-shoots as well as normal targets on the swingers to catch out the spray and prayers could achieve a similar goal

I've got a stage planned.  Will depend when the mini match is pushed back to.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the two ranges? length by width?

Range 6 is around 14 metres x 26 metres, Range 7 is about 9 x 26 metres.   Neither is square.    Google Earth has some good views on the current images, and are quite measureable.

Thank for that Gavin that helps heaps.
I'm setting up the CPC ranges on Sketch up along with all  the obstacles and targets. For those who are geeks like me you'll be able to design sweet as stages.

If you want to have a look download google sketch up from here:
http://www.google.com/sketchup/download/
(click on the free version bottom right)

Then check out the attached files.
1st one is both ranges with some obstacle in the middle to use. You'll have to copy and paste these to get enough.
2nd file is a stage I've set up. (pics included)

On my next visit to the range I'll note down everything we have so far and add them into the programme.

The cool thing about this is you can even set up walk throughs (see pic 3) to check out every possible angle.

Enjoy

Yeeaars ago in  amatch "up north" we started with pistols holstered and a jug/ mug of water and had to carry throughout the stage without spilling any (the mug had a line showing how full it was), that was quite entertaining.

I think the same match the start position was lying in a "bed" with pistol unloaded in box beside "bed". On go you leapt up, loaded and got into it, including outward opening doors to kick open etc. very nice wake up!  :troll: Your thoughts, Regan
If it's alive, kill it,
If it's wet, drink it,
If it purr's, f#!*$ it! :)
