April Report

The IPSC section has been busy with Mini-matches being held each month amongst other events. A big congratulations goes to Mike G for winning the “Most improved new shooter” competition. The prize is the use of a CZ 75 ST Standard class 40S&W pistol to use for the next six months. His improvement in shooting combined with his efforts in helping set up matches etc made him a worthy recipient. Please see Aarons report for all the details on up coming events – 2 Gun Mini match 18th April, IPSC match at Ashburton 25th April and the 3 Gun South Island Champs 15th &16th May (Entries close 3rd May)
Ruth, Cheryl and Michael have been working very hard on the High School Air Pistol programme. They have been giving up their own shooting time to develop and encourage teenagers into the sport. Thanks to Ruth’s tireless efforts, she has also been successful in winning a sizeable grant to purchase several new quality air pistols for the programme. And if that wasn’t enough, Ruth Cheryl and Michael have passed their ISSF Judges licenses, so don’t argue the rules with them!
The CAS section had a great shoot at Ashburton on 19th & 20th March. The shoot was well attended and a big thanks to JD Kidd and Black Smith for bringing the various CAS clubs together. 12 Christchurch Shooters went to Alexandra for the South Island Champs last weekend and best of all our guys and girls where at the top end of the results!
New membership applications are strong again this month putting lots of pressure on Committee members to induct them. If you can help them out it is always appreciated.
Annual subscription invoices will be emailed out in the next week and posted to the few members that haven’t discovered electricity yet.
