Motanau 3 Gun
« on: 17 May, 2010, 09:37:31 am »
Hi Team, just wanted to say a big thanks to all involved in setting up the three gun at Motunau last weekend. It was my first time at 3 gun, first time at Mot and it was the South Island Champs.......no pressure!

I had a blast (literally and figuratively!) and will definitely be back again. Cheers to Tom for giving me a couch for the night and all those CHCH Pistol club members for taking out most of the trophies! "O" for awesome, Regs :bangbang:

If it's wet, drink it,
If it purr's, f#!*$ it! :)

Hi all,

First of all I would like to thank the Kerry & Jayson Prenter for the use of their property for this years 3 Gun South Island Champs.

Special thanks to thank Sean & Rhonda (and the kids), Gavin & Colleen, Tom & Margaret, Chris & Donna, Mike S and Mike G for all the hard work behind the scenes setting up and preparing all that was needed for the event.  :busy:

I would also like to thank the squad leaders for all their efforts to keep their squads moving throughout the weekend.

It was a great weekend, with 36 competitors taking part. There were a variety of stages over the three disciplines that where both fun and challenging.  :perfect:

The only downside to the weekend was the limited daylight hours we had available to shoot with and the weather on Sunday  :badday2:

Lying in the mud while its pouring with rain and trying to hit a grayish target at 200 meters was a challenge for all.  ;H

Again thank-you for all who helped make the event a success.  :thankyou:

We are looking forward to hosting the event again next year, but probably a couple of months earlier to ensure that we get the best possible weather conditions and make the most of daylight savings.

Howdy  Folks
great to see yer had a good shoot over the weekend   ,yea it's always a bummer  on rural  ranges with the weather  i kinda wondered how  things were going as it poured down  here on the sunday :badday2: ..
great to see a lot of CPC names  showing up in the placeings

fully agree with you aaron  about being earlyer   most times (not always )  the weather is better and   longer days  help out a lot   even if  it's  for setting up  stages  for the next day   also  a lot nicer   standing around a BBQ  haveing a yarn on a warm night    :3cheers: ..

ya also right  for the support   needed to run a shoot   a lot  of the shooters never see that side of it    it sounds like yer had a good crew helping out in a lot of areas

catch ya
