Overview

There is not much new to report from the IPSC Ranges for the month of June.
Shooting has been continuing on both Wednesday nights and Sunday club days as the weather has permitted.

IPSC Section - AGM Report 2009-2010

Introduction

For those who I have not met before, my name is Aaron C and I am the current IPSC Section Director.

This has been my first year as the IPSC Section Director, and what a busy year it has been. With the monthly matches at club level as well as South Island and National Championships, there has been a lot of shooting to be had by all.

It has been pleasing to see the numbers of shooters competing in all these events, and it is also encouraging to see the results that have been achieved by our club members.

This year has been a steep learning curve for me as I myself am a newer member to the club.

I would like to thank those who have supported me this year. Without all your hard work we would have not been able to run so many successful matches.

There are a few highlights from the year that I would like to mention:

The Support from the IPSC Team

These are the sections members that meet to discuss and work through what is going to happen within the section for the coming months.

It's all the behind the scenes work of these section members that lets us have such successful mini-matches.

On the Saturday before every mini-match you will find these Guy's at the range designing and setting up the matches.

Special Thanks must go to:

Sean & Rhonda G, Gavin M, Richard S, Mike S,   Dave H, Ged C, Gordon A, Mike G, Matt C, Patrick M, Steve B, Tom B, Neil C, Neville W, Chris R and to anyone else I have missed I am sorry.

The Monthly Mini-Matches

We had scheduled 12 matches this year, one for every month. We have managed to have 11, as the May 2010 match was rained out.

At these matches we have been averaging 30 members, shooting Open, Standard, Production and Revolver grades.

Because of the hard work of the IPSC Team, each match is different and made up of new and varying stage designs.

Full results of each Mini-Match can be found on the Clubs Forum.

The Club Championships – Sunday 8th November 2010

Over the year we have be running a competition to identify the most improved new shooter within the IPSC Section. The Prize is the use of the clubs CZ75 ST IPSC Standard in 40S&W for 6 months, this includes full holster rig, 4 mags and reloading assistance.

The competition was based upon newer shooters improvement in Mini-Match scores, their general attitude and helpfulness around the ranges.

Mini-Match Setup

We are still in need of helpers to setup the monthly mini-matches. If you are interested in helping or just would like to see what happens, feel free to pop out after 1pm on the Saturday prior to a mini-match, or talk to me.

Next mini-match setup will be Saturday 17th July @ 1pm.

June 2010 Mini-Match

On Sunday 20th June the IPSC Section staged another successful mini-match. The match consisted of four challenging pistol stages on ranges 6 & 7.

Thanks to the members of the IPSC Team for their tireless work on the setup of the mini-match. Also a special thanks to some of the newer members of the IPSC section who also helped out with this month's setup.
