IPSC Section Report for July 2010
OverviewJuly has been a month of mixed weather conditions. We have gone from ranges that have been under water and totally frozen to sunny summer like conditions. Putting the weather conditions to one side it is pleasing to see that we have been able to continue to keep the shooting going on both Wednesday nights and Sunday club days.
Wednesday night shooting will continue for the time being as there is currently enough interest. If we start to experience limited numbers showing up for the evening shooting, we may have to reassess its continuation but with the lengthening of the available daylight hours I can’t see this really being an issue.
Mini-Match SetupIt again has been pleasing to see the large numbers of people turning up on the Saturday before the mini-match to help it the setup the stages. I have found this help to be invaluable, as it makes the setup process so much faster.
In saying that, we are still in need of helpers to setup the monthly mini-matches. If you are interested in helping or just would like to see what happens, feel free to pop out after 1pm on the Saturday prior to a mini-match, or talk to me.
Next mini-match setup will be Saturday 21st August @ 1pm.
July 2010 Mini-MatchOn Sunday 18th July the IPSC Section staged another successful mini-match. The match consisted of four challenging pistol stages on ranges 6 & 7.
It was great to see a good number of shooters taking part this month. The final count was 26 competitors split over three grades. There where 4 in Open, 7 in Standard and 15 in Production Grade.
It was pleasing to see so many new section members turning up and shooting the mini-matches. I have been impressed by the “give it a go” attitude of our newer members. They are keen to improve and the results I have seen from this month’s mini-match they are well on their way to challenge the more seasoned shooter of the section.
Again thanks to the members of the IPSC Team for their behind the scenes work on the setup of the mini-match. Also a special thanks to some of the newer members of the IPSC section who also helped out with this month’s setup.
The results from the July Mini-Match are:
