3 Gun Section Report for June 2010

Overview

There is not a lot to report for the month of June as we haven't had any matches at any of the clubs ranges.

I am thinking of holding a 2 Gun match in September, more details will follow next month.

AGM Report 2009-2010

Introduction

Dave H is our current 3 Gun Section Director, I have been asked to make a quick report of the years events on his behalf.

We have run a few events over the past year as time and access to the Motunau Ranges have allowed.

We have managed to run three 2 Gun matches at the Christchurch Ranges and four 3 Gun Matches at the Motunau Ranges one of which was the Pistol New Zealand South Island 3 Gun Championships, this also acted as our own club champs.

It has been pleasing to see the numbers of shooters competing in all these events, and it is also encouraging to see the results that have been achieved by our club members.


I would like to thank all who have help setup and run these matches

It’s all the behind the scenes work of these section members that lets us have such successful matches.

The Pistol New Zealand National 3 Gun Championships for 2009

The Pistol NZ Practical (IPSC) - 3 Gun Nationals for 2009 where held over the weekend of Friday 23rd October through to Sunday 25th October at the Cable Bay Pistol Club in Nelson.

The following members from the club attended: Sean, Julian, Peter, Rose, Nick, Robert, Tom, Chris, Donna.

Congratulations to Sean on his result in taking out the Tactical Division and first equal in the overall competition.

Congratulations to Peter in taking out the Heavy Metal Division and to Julian for coming second in the Standard Division.

From all accounts it was a fun filled and challenging weekend.

The Pistol New Zealand South Island 3 Gun Championships for 2010

The Pistol NZ Practical (IPSC) - 3 Gun South Islands for 2010 where held over the weekend of Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th May 2010 at the clubs satellite range in Motunau.

It was a great weekend, with 36 competitors taking part. There were a variety of stages over the three disciplines that where both fun and challenging.

The only downside to the weekend was the limited amount of daylight hours we had available to shoot and of course the weather on Sunday.

Lying in the mud while it’s pouring with rain and trying to hit a grayish target at 200 meters was a challenge for all. 

The club will be looking to host this event again next year, but at an earlier date to make the most of the good weather and the extra daylight hours.

This match also served as our club champs for the year and the results are as follows:

Thanks again for all the help Dave H and I have received through out the year.

I am looking forward to the next years shooting, and I hope we can build further on the success of this years events.
