Gen 3s are available in NZ as the Gen 4 has only recently come out. As for a holster I was told when I joined to have a look around at what the other club members used, which was very good advice. If your looking at competition rigs you really should look at the speed rigs. They are a little more money but worth it if your serious about competing, also you don't have to get the whole lot at once. I've brought a speed belt and a bog standard holster and mag pouches. Purely because I wasn't sure if I wanted to go glock once I spent some more time on the range and when my licence came through.
Best advice I ever got was don't be in a hurry to buy gear, check out what others have and ASK.
