Glock holster
« on: 09 March, 2011, 02:47:51 pm »
I'm in the market for a new Glock holster, to suit what I believe are the gen3 Glock 17s used by the club. I was looking at buying one of these http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=129

Does anyone know whether the club guns have rails? (Ie: do I need a holster to suit? Options you choose in the drop down menu) Also, are Glocks of this style (gen3) still available new in NZ so when I buy my own my holster still fits? I understand that Glock are manufacturing gen3 and gen4 in parallel but I'm not sure if gen3 is available new in NZ, which is what I want to eventually buy.

Gen 3s are available in NZ as the Gen 4 has only recently come out. As for a holster I was told when I joined to have a look around at what the other club members used, which was very good advice. If your looking at competition rigs you really should look at the speed rigs. They are a little more money but worth it if your serious about competing, also you don't have to get the whole lot at once. I've brought a speed belt and a bog standard holster and mag pouches. Purely because I wasn't sure if I wanted to go glock once I spent some more time on the range and when my licence came through.

Best advice I ever got was don't be in a hurry to buy gear, check out what others have and ASK.

Hi,

To get you started with the club guns the fobus holsters are good. Fobus model GL2BH or GL2E2BH for righthanded and GL2BH LH for lefthanded the double mag pouch is 6900. I got mine from Ebay, check out seller - therightdeal4all.

Welcome,

Andrew

I've done actually a fair amount of pistol shooting, but I lost all my old gear in the quake. What I'm really trying to find out is what type of holster fits a gen3 Glock; ie do they have rails or not?

For a safe and fast holster, for shadow, Glock or many other production guns, it's hard to beat the Bladetech Kydex rigs. You can buy these from Brownells- the competition packs include mag pouches.
