Crikey it’s already March, thankfully earthworks are well underway on Ranges 8 & 9 before the rest of 2009 is speeds by.
A gentle reminder to you all to ensure your attendances are up to the required level before the Club year ends. This is a requirement of the Arms Act that rumour has will be tightened up on by the police this year.
In Committee news, Niki has resigned as Treasurer after many years of hard work keeping the books in order. I like to thank her for all her tireless and thankless efforts. Rhonda Gray has been elected by the Committee to be Treasurer until year end.
There are plenty of competitions being organised by your hard working Committee. Please have a look on the coming events page of our website to see what tickles your fancy.
Each month the club is paying rental for a telephone land line in the clubrooms. The committee have it removed as we don’t believe there is a use for it. In the case of an emergency no-one actually knows where it is and would just use the nearest cellphone. As I didn't receive any good reasons for continuing to pay the rental before our 8th April Committee meeting, it was removed to save money
Due to the behaviour of a minority of Club Members it is become necessary for the Committee to enforce the Eye & Ear rule on all Ranges. You would think it simple common sense to protect senses as precious as your eyes & ears....
ALL PERSONS PRESENT WHILE SHOOTING IS IN PROGRESS ARE REQUIRED TO USE EYE & EAR PROTECTION
ANY PERSON WITHOUT BOTH WILL BE REQUIRED TO LEAVE THE RANGE IMMEDIATELY
REPEAT OFFENDERS MAY FIND THEIR MEMBERSHIP AFFECTED
If you can see people shooting from where you are standing you need ear & eye protection - Please take responsibility for the safety of any visitors you may see in your area too.
Happy shooting—Sean
